Lady Seeks Divorce Over Husband's Choice Of Brother As Next-Of-Kin

A housewife, Folasade Fayemi, on Friday encouraged a Customary Court at Agodi, Ibadan, to disintegrate her three-year-old marriage, refering to her significant other's choice to make his sibling the closest relative.

Folasade likewise denounced her significant other, Temitope, of beating and bothering her. She stated:

"My Lord, my better half purchased a plot of land and put the name of his kin as the closest relative without thinking of me as and my child, who is the main offspring of the marriage.

"He cherishes his kin and mom more than me, generally in close contact with his mom and scarcely educates me concerning his developments.

"More awful still, he beats me generally and does not think about my welfare; the court ought to separate us since he lean towards his mom and kin to me."

The spouse, be that as it may, denied every one of the assertions and begged the court not to separate them, saying despite everything I cherish her."

The President of the court, Chief Mukaila Balogun, encouraged the gatherings to investigate the likelihood of accommodating, saying "the court is intrigued more in compromise and settlement of cracks between couple than disintegration."

He encouraged the spouse to make the move for compromise and report back to the court.

The case has been suspended to Feb 1.
