Deal Agreed: Manchester United superstar on the verge to sign massive contract

Manchester United centre-forward Romelu Lukaku flew to Italy to hold talks with Serie A giants Inter Milan agent and has agreed on a deal to make a move to the Italian top-tier.

The Belgian is surplus to requirements at Man Utd as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prefers academy graduate Marcus Rashford over former Everton attacker.

The Red Devils have paid £75million for Belgian forward back in 2017 and hope to recoup much of that fee in any contract with Inter Milan, though they value the centre-forward around £55m.

Conte, installed as Inter coach on Friday, had wanted to take the striker back to Stamford Bridge for a second spell before Lukaku opted to join United instead. He replaces Luciano Spalletti, who was sacked despite guiding the club to Champions League qualification for a second successive season following a six-year absence from Europe’s elite club competition.

Interestingly, Lukaku has now joined up with agent Frederico Pastorello, who is friends with Conte’s family.
United now have to decide whether to cut their losses on another big-money signing as Solskjaer looks to build a team capable of challenging for the title again.
