King Jaja of Opobo, Concubine herald Rivers @ 50 celebrations

As a feature of the exercises arranged to proclaim the Rivers State at 50 festivities, the state government through its Ministry of Culture and Tourism has closed arrangements to stage two notable plays to instruct and in addition rejoin the general population of the state with their critical past.

The painstakingly chose imaginative works are the stage adjustment of Elechi Amadi's acclaimed novel, "Concubine" and the immense patriot play, "king Jaja of Opobo."

Interestingly, some driving Nollywood stars would wow gatherings of people in front of an audience in both plays separately.

Driving the thrown of "King Jaja of Opobo" is multi-capable on-screen character cum TV character, Monalisa Chinda-Coker who is a glad Ikwerre, Rivers State princess.

Other gifted actors highlighting in the play, which is composed by Miesonuwa Minima are Norbert Young, Francis Duru, Bimbo Manuel, Walter Anga among a few others.

In the mean time, highlighting in "Concubine", are striking performing artists including Segun Arinze, Ebele Okaro, Onyeka Onwenu, Joy Ngadi and a few others as driving cast individuals.

While "king Jaja of Opobo's" live execution hangs on Thursday, May 18, "Concubine" will be organized on Tuesday, May 23 at the upscale Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

These brilliant celebration creations, which are as of now serenading Rivers and its environs is being delivered by the Thespian Crew Consult under the supervision of the Rivers State Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

In a visit with Weekend Groove, Monalisa Chinda-Coker lauded Governor Nyesom Wike for revealing the drums to praise the rich social legacy of the state on the event of its 50th commemoration.

"We need to resuscitate the period of stage preparations with these two awesome works that have a great deal to tell about our rich culture, convention and traditions.

Well done to my state on this memorable festival.

I'm pleased to originate from this extraordinary state.

We as a whole should hold hands to make Rivers awesome again and the time is now,"Monalisa said.
