Romelu Lukaku revealed what he said to Zlatan before taking his shirt number..

Romelu Lukaku joined Manchester United for 75million pounds this summer from Everton, and so far has scored six goals in as many matches.

His latest one came against Basel in the 3-0 Champions League opening match win.

The Belgium international came as a direct replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who was exceptional last campaign.

But how Lukaku got the number 9 shirt from the Swede?

Well, the former Everton man has revealed exactly how it happend in an interview for the Mirror.

“Yeah I did [call him about his shirt number] I didn’t want to tell him I wanted the number 9,” he said, as per The Mirror.

“But I called Zlatan and asked him and he said that I could take the number 9 and he would take the number 10.

“But I said to him I’m looking forward to you coming back because I know that you don’t want to stop like this.”
