Wenger's Plan after ending his Arsenal tenure... Read more
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said he would like the chance to manage at the World Cup after finally calling time on his tenure in North London.
Wenger has been in charge at Arsenal since 1996 and has previously been linked with the England manager's post.
And though he admits he still sees the day-to-day life of club coaching as 'the real test,' Wenger is open to coaching on the biggest stage of them all in the future.
'Maybe yes I will do it at some stage but until now I like to be involved every day in the life of a club because the real test is there,' he told beIn Sports.
'Four or five weeks is a different experience, it's more concentrated but I believe the real experience of managing a team is on a daily basis.
'But I will not always have the physical strength to do that so maybe I will move into that.'
Wenger has in the past refused to rule out managing England, claiming last year: 'One day, if I'm free, why not?'
He was reportedly courted by the FA in September 2016 before Gareth Southgate was named as the permanent successor to Sam Allardyce.
And according to the Telegraph, the Frenchman was their also their preferred choice for the role when Roy Hodgson resigned in the wake of England's defeat by Iceland at Euro 2016.
